Ford is recalling 2010-2013 versions of the Ford Taurus, Taurus Police Interceptor, and Lincoln MKS, as well as, the 2014 Ford Transit Connect cars and vans. Ford says there have been no reported injuries related to any of these recalls, however, they’ve discovered that seat belts in these models could loosen over time making them less effective in accidents. Also, door-handles may loosen and cause the doors to open during a side-impact crash.
This isn’t the first time Ford has recalled the Taurus and the MKS. In June 2013, Ford recalled the same vehicles for faulty child locks. In May of last year, the Taurus was recalled for license plate lamps that could light on fire.
Dealers will “repair or replace” all four door handles, as well as, tighten seat belts that have loosened. Consumers with an affected vehicle should visit their Ford Dealer immediately and have their cars and vans professionally inspected.
