143,000 Honda vehicles Recalled due to Software problems

Software problems has  resulted in a recall of over 143,000 Honda Civics and Fits.

Honda Recall Overview:

Honda says the software was programmed in a way that exposes the drive pulley shaft to more stress than it was built to handle.

The affected Civics were built from January 16, 2014 to November 6, 2014. The affected Fits were built from March 12, 2014 to May 12, 2015.
The automaker says no crashes or injuries have been linked to the issue.

Statements and Reactions In Regards to Recall:

If the transmission drive pulley shaft is damaged, it may break, and the vehicle may lose acceleration or the front wheels may lock up while driving, increasing the risk of a crash, said NHTSA in its recall summary.
