Texas Tripe is recalling 35 lots for each of 23 product varieties, because, according to the FDA, it might be contaminated with Salmonella and/or Listeria monocytogenes.
Salmonella infection can cause diarrhea, fever, vomiting, dehydration, lethargy, loss of appetite, increased heart rate, depression, skin disease, and can be lethal.
Listeriosis can cause depression, abortion, fever, diarrhea, anorexia, and can be deadly too. This disease is more common in humans but can also happen in dogs.
What you can do
Stop feeding the recalled products to your pets and discard them in a secure place so that other animals can’t eat it.
