Cat Food Recalled Due to Low Levels of Vitamin B1

The J.M. Smucker Company has recently issued a recall for its 9Lives® Protein Plus® wet, canned cat food, because, according to the FDA, they contain low levels of thiamine (Vitamin B1). This could lead to decreased appetite, salivation, vomiting, failure to grow, and weight loss, or even to neurological problems.

The recalled products can be identified by the UPC codes 7910021549 and 7910021748. They were distributed to a variety of stores nationwide.

What you can do

Stop consuming the recalled products and contact the company for a full refund. For further information you can reach the company at 1-888-569-6828.
