Kia recalls over 377,000 Kia Sorrento SUVs for transmission problems

Kia Recall Overview:

Kia is recalling over 377,000 Sorento SUVs model years 2011-2013 due to transmission issues. These were manufactured between Oct. 19, 2009, and Jan. 31, 2013. The transmission has been known to shift out of park, causing the vehicle to roll away, if your foot is not on the brake – which can result in a crash.

There have been three reported injuries due to this issue.

What To Do If You Own This Vehicle:

First, check your VIN  number to see if your Kia is part of the recall. If your vehicle is affected please contact your local Kia dealerships so that the brake-shift interlock can be replaced. This will be done free of charge to you. Affected owners will be notified by November 24, 2015.
