Smoked Salmon Under Recall Due to Botulism Risk

Seabear Company of Anacortes has recently issued a recall for its Cold Smoked Wild Coho Salmon Lox, because, according to an FDA report, it may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum.

This bacteria may cause some symptoms such as  general weakness, dizziness, double-vision and trouble with speaking or swallowing.

The recalled products were distributed in CA, MD, and WA, and can be identified by the UPC number 7 52047 92635 4.

What you can do

They recommend keeping the product frozen until used and thaw under refrigeration immediately before use.  If the consumer has refrigerated product, dispose of immediately even if it does not look or smell spoiled. For further information the company can be reached at (800) 338-9903.
