Chipotle Linked to Salmonella Outbreak

The Minnesota Department of Health has been busy with the recent cucumber recall, which has included distributions to various chains throughout the state.

Red Lobster is already being sued by a woman after she ate there and was subsequently hospitalized with Salmonella poisoning.

Now, in a case reportedly unrelated to the cucumber salmonella outbreak, April Beck of Minneapolis, MN ate at Chipotle Mexican Grill and was subsequently forced to the hospital with poisoning, Salmonella once again cited as the culprit.

Since September 2nd, Ms. Beck is among 45 cases so far of people who have reported they dined at the Chipotle restaurant chain and after eating were stricken with Salmonella.

Nationwide, Chipotle has 1,847 restaurants, and the Company is feverishly trying to determine the source of the alleged poisoning. It is heavily assumed to be produce of some sort, although further details have not been released. The Minnesota Department of Health is heavily involved in this investigation, and Chipotle stores outside the state of Minnesota have not been implicated in related-sicknesses to date.
