Kraft Foods has recalled certain Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Boxes due to the possibility they may contain metal. The recalled product is limited to the 7.25-oz. size of Original Flavor macaroni. Boxes with “Best When Used By” dates ranging from September 18th, 2015 to October 11th, 2015 are the only products affected. They will have the code, “C2” directly below the date. Their UPC number will be 0 21000 65883 1.
Some of the products have been placed in multi-packs. The products were sold in only these four arrangements:
- 7.25 oz. box, Original Flavor
- 3-pack of 7.25 oz. boxes, Original Flavor
- 4-pack, shrink wrapped, of 7.25 oz boxes, Original Flavor
- 5-pack, shrink wrapped, of 7.25 oz boxes, Original Flavor
The multi-packs affected have different “Best When Used By” dates and different codes than the individual boxes. The “Best When” dates are:
- 3-Packs: 09 SEP 2015 XDG, 27 SEP 2015 XDG, 01 OCT 2015 XDG, 02 OCT 2015 XDG, 03 OCT 2015 XDG, and 20 NOV 2015 XDG
- 4-Packs: 8 SEP 2015 C2, 19 SEP 2015 C2, and 08 OCT 2015 C2
- 5-Packs: 18 SEP 2015 through11 OCT 2015, these will have the codes XAR or C2
The individual boxes within these sets will be marked with these dates:
- 3-Packs: 18 SEP 2015 C2 through 11 OCT 2015 C2.
- 4-Packs: 18 SEP 2015 C2, 19 SEP 2015 C2, and 08 OCT 2015 C2.
- 5-Packs: 18 SEP 2015 through 11 OCT 2015, these have the codes XAR or C2
UPC’s for these multi-packs are different than UPC’s on boxes within the packs.
- 3-Packs have the UPC 0 21000 05076 5 and individual packs in this set have UPC’s of 0 21000 65883 1
- 4-Packs have the UPC 0 21000 72540 3 and individual packs are 0 21000 65883 1
- 5-Packs have the UPC 0 21000 77436 4 and individual packs are 0 21000 65883 1
Kraft has received eight consumer reports concerning metal found in boxes, but there have been no injuries. However, buyers of this product should not eat it.
